Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

2. Authors and Authors responsibilities

- Before authors begin preparing their manuscript for submission “Commentaria Classica” states that no fees or charges are required for manuscript processing and/or publishing materials in this journal.

- Authors are obliged to participate in peer review process.

- All authors have significantly contributed to the research.

- All authors are obliged to provide retractions or corrections of mistakes.

- All authors are invited to provide a list of references and financial support.

- It is forbidden to publish same research in more than one journal.


3. Peer-review process

- All of “Commentaria Classica”s content is subjected to double blind peer-review.

- Double blind peer-review is defined as obtaining advice on individual manuscripts from reviewers’ expert in the field.

The Direction of the Journal identifies two experts in the sector who can judge the article that has been submitted. Each expert will receive the article in an absolutely anonymous way.


- Judgments should be objective.

- Reviewers should have no conflict of interest.

- Reviewers should point out relevant published work which is not yet cited.

- Reviewed articles should be treated confidentially.


4. Publication ethics

- Publishers and editors take reasonable steps to identify and prevent the publication of papers where research misconduct has occurred.

- In no case “Commentaria Classica” or its editors encourage such misconduct, or knowingly allow such misconduct to take place.

- In the event that a “Commentaria Classica”’s publisher or editors are made aware of any allegation of research misconduct, the publisher or editor will deal with allegations appropriately.

- “Commentaria Classica” has guidelines for retracting or correcting articles when needed:


Each referee will anonymously send his judgement to the Direction of "Commentaria Classica", which will send it to the author. The author will then have to send the journal a second version of his contribution that takes into account the reviewers' comments. The Direction will be responsible for verifying that the observations have been accepted by the author.


- Publishers and editors are always willing to publish corrections, clarifications, retractions and apologies when needed.


5. Copyright and Access

- Copyright and licensing information are clearly described on the journal’s Web site:

- “Commentaria Classica” and individual articles are available to readers by open access in the web; no subscriptions or pay-per-view fees are associated.


6. Archiving

- “Commentaria Classica”’s plan for electronic backup and preservation of access to the journal content in the event a journal is no longer published is furnished by the fact that each issue of “Commentaria Classica” is archived in “Internet Archive”.
